The Quiet Season

Not every season comes with a burning bush. Some seasons are just quiet — and learning to sit in that silence has been one of the hardest and most beautiful things I've done.

The Quiet Season

"Be still, and know that I am God."

— Psalm 46:10

We live in a culture that celebrates noise. Hustle. Output. Visible results. And somewhere along the way, I brought that same energy into my faith — expecting every prayer to be answered loudly, every season to feel productive, every moment of stillness to be filled with divine revelation.

But God doesn't always speak in the whirlwind.

"After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper." — 1 Kings 19:12

The quiet season taught me to slow down. To stop measuring my spiritual life by its outputs. To sit with God without an agenda.

It wasn't comfortable. It felt like nothing was happening. But looking back, it was in that silence that the deepest work was being done — in me, not through me.

If you're in a quiet season right now, resist the urge to fill it. The silence is not absence. It is preparation.
